Dr. Demento On Tour

Dr. Demento is touring across the United States.

Anyone who might be interested in sponsoring an appearance or going to a local business or college to ask them to sponsor an appearance should contact Arthyr Chadbourne at awc99@mindspring.com.

The most helpful thing Dementoids can do is call their local colleges and univerities, speak to both the people who put on the fine arts series and the student activites office, and suggest that there is a strong audience for Dr Demento, and that he can do academic lectures on the history of recorded music, Frank Zappa, etc. as well as an evening of classic Dementia, complete with videos (Fish Heads, Spike Jones, etc.)

Dr. Demento Presents:

AN EVENING OF DEMENTIA: A Multimedia tour of the land of Dementia. All of the good Doctor's favorites augmented by rare film and video clips including Barnes and Barnes neo noire video of Fish Heads.

SONGS I CAN'T PLAY ON THE RADIO: Too extreme for Jesse and too sophisticated for Newt, the often underground recorded erotica of past decades relies on sly double entendre, timing and great musicianship to titillate and amuse. True to form, the Doctor does not fail to include a few works that are unquestionably in questionable taste. Cheif among them is a World War II vintage Howard Cosell style "broadcast" of a championship competition which the contestants prepare for by eating beans.

THE DEMENTIA FILM FESTIVAL: Over the years Dr. Demento has acquired, through his tireless research, an astounding collection of comedy and novelty cartoons, videos and musical shorts. When queried by a reporter as to how he had amassed a colleciton others could only dream of, the Doctor replied in characterisitc modest profundity "Those are the dreams stuff is made of."

A HISTORY OF RECORDED COMEDY: A graduate level oration beginning with Edison cylinders and ending with CD rom. Remember the Doctor knows more about the history of recorded comedy than you do because he has a masters degree in Folklore and Mythology.

DEMENTIA RELATING TO ANY TOPIC YOU COULD EVER IMAGINE:

COMEDY SONG WRITING WORKSHOP: For amateur and professional songwriters. Learn the insider secrets of this most arcane vocation. Participants can bring their own tapes and have them critiqued by the Doctor himself. Can Dr. Demento make every "Weird Al" Yankovic wannabe on campus into a star? Well, maybe...
